The batteries and rechargeable batteries from our own brand, SUN Battery, have been available on the market since 2004. Since then, our lead-acid batteries – also known as AGM (Absorbent Glass Mat) batteries – have been synonymous with high quality and the latest technology. These batteries have now been used successfully for over 20 years by manufacturers of safety-critical systems.

The SUN Battery brand is divided into the following five product ranges:

• Standard 6V series
• Standard 12V series
• High Rate series (HR)
• High Cycle series (HC)
• Front terminal series

SUN Battery’s lead-acid batteries are characterised by a wide range of products and various product series. High energy densities and a wide range of connection types and dimensions enable you to select a battery that is perfectly suited to your requirements. Furthermore, many of our SUN Battery products hold VdS certification. This certification makes the AGM batteries particularly suitable for use in the security sector.

SUN Battery Standard 6 V Series

The lead-acid batteries in the SUN Battery 6 V series are characterised by their compact design. These sealed, completely maintenance-free batteries have a high energy density and, thanks to the variety of their dimensions, are particularly suitable for use in alarm systems, power tools, model-making and medical equipment.

SUN Battery Standard 12 V Series

The extensive product range of the 12 V series offers you many advantages. With a choice of 20 lead-acid batteries, you can select from a wide variety of dimensions and connection types. The VdS-certified batteries in the 12 V series are ideally suited for use in a variety of security systems. As well as being used in hazard detection systems, burglar alarm systems or smoke and heat extraction systems, these sealed and completely maintenance-free batteries are also well suited as back-up batteries for emergency power and UPS systems.

SUN Battery High Rate (HR) Series

In addition to our standard 12 V batteries, we offer the High Rate series. With the same dimensions, this series delivers approximately 20 per cent more capacity and boasts a particularly high short-term discharge rate. Thanks to these characteristics, the main areas of application for SUN Battery’s HR series are UPS systems and emergency power systems.

SUN Battery High Cycle Series (HC)

SUN Battery’s High Cycle range is ideally suited to applications involving demanding cyclic operation. With 300 full cycles in accordance with EUROBAT, the High Cycle batteries are perfect for rehabilitation equipment, wind and solar energy, or even electric golf trolleys.

SUN Battery Front Terminal Series

The SUN Battery FT series AGM batteries meet all the requirements for valve-regulated lead-acid batteries. Thanks to a specially developed lead-calcium-tin alloy, the FT series achieves a service life of up to 12 years according to EUROBAT. It also offers excellent discharge performance, making it ideal for use in telecommunications systems and uninterruptible power supply (UPS) applications.

In which areas can a 12-volt battery from SUN Battery be used?

The SUN Battery stands out for its high quality at a fair price. It is VdS-approved and completely maintenance-free. Furthermore, it is particularly reliable and safe for use in security technology, alarm systems and fire alarm systems. The VdS battery is approved by the Association of Property Insurers for use in VdS alarm systems under the assigned VdS number. The 12 V batteries are therefore ideal as backup batteries for various security systems such as:

How long does a 12 V battery from SUN Battery last?

As with all other batteries, the service life of SUN Battery 12-volt batteries depends on a number of factors. These include storage and maintenance conditions, as well as usage and the number of charge-discharge cycles. Generally speaking, AGM batteries can often last as long as 7 to 10 years under ideal conditions.

How can the service life of the batteries be extended?

As with other batteries, it is crucial that SUN Battery’s 12-volt batteries are maintained and used regularly and correctly. It is important to ensure that the battery is recharged regularly after each discharge. Deep discharging of the battery should be avoided. Good ventilation is also essential for extending the battery’s service life, as this helps to prevent gas build-up inside the battery. Furthermore, the battery should always be stored in a clean and dry place to prevent damage.
